There are chasms between who we are now and the best or optimized version of ourselves. There is distance between our lives as they are and the impactful, purposed lives God envisioned when He created us.
So do we “fake it til we make it” until we close that gap? Or is there a better way?
Hebrews 12:1 calls us to, “Throw off everything that hinders us and the sin that so easily entangles and run with perseverance the race marked out for us.”

We are all aware of the need to throw off sin that brings darkness, secrets, and damage to our lives, but what about the things that “hinder” us? Those interferences can include issues such as insecurity, self-doubt, a need for control, fear of failure, being cynical of others, mistrust in God’s love, or expectation of life turning out a certain way.
Too often, we justify our hindrances. But there is ease, impact, health, and strength ahead if we are willing to acknowledge what is standing in our way and allow God to unhinder us. These hindrances might not separate us from God as sin does, but they also do not reflect the character of God and who He desires us to be. His way is always better.
Praying for your ministry & leadership,
